Correction & Withdrawal Policy
The Journal of Integrated Innovation Science is committed to maintaining the integrity of the scientific record. In alignment with the guidance provided by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the journal follows a clear and transparent policy for handling corrections and withdrawals to ensure that any errors or ethical concerns are addressed promptly and appropriately. This policy is designed to safeguard the reliability of published research while respecting the rights of authors and readers.
Correction Policy
The journal recognizes that errors can occur in published articles and takes necessary steps to address them. Corrections are categorized as follows:
-
Erratum or Publisher Correction
- Issued when the error is introduced during the production or publication process and is the responsibility of the journal.
- Examples include typographical errors, layout issues, or incorrect metadata (e.g., author names, affiliations, or funding details).
- An erratum will be published in the next available issue and linked to the original article.
-
Corrigendum or Author Correction
- Issued when an error is identified by the authors after publication and is their responsibility.
- Examples include errors in data, calculations, or interpretations that do not alter the overall conclusions of the article.
- A corrigendum is reviewed by the editorial team before publication and linked to the original article.
-
Retraction
- Retractions are issued for articles with significant flaws or ethical breaches that undermine the validity of the findings or conclusions.
- Retractions may result from issues such as plagiarism, data fabrication, duplicate publication, or unethical research practices.
- The retraction notice will clearly state the reason for the retraction, who initiated it (authors, editors, or third parties), and include a link to the original article (which will be marked as retracted).
- Retractions follow the guidelines outlined in COPE’s Retraction Guidelines.
-
Addendum
- Issued when additional information is necessary to clarify aspects of the research after publication.
- Addenda are used to address updates or supplementary details that enhance the original article without correcting any errors.
- The addendum will be published as a separate document linked to the original article.
Withdrawal Policy
Authors may request withdrawal of their manuscript under certain circumstances, such as:
-
Before Acceptance:
- Authors may withdraw their submission before it is accepted for publication without incurring penalties.
- Withdrawal requests must be submitted in writing, providing valid reasons for the withdrawal.
-
After Acceptance (Before Publication):
- Withdrawal requests after acceptance are considered on a case-by-case basis and must be supported by valid ethical or scientific reasons.
- The editorial team reserves the right to deny withdrawal requests if the reasons provided are deemed insufficient or if significant resources have been expended on the manuscript.
-
After Publication:
- Published articles can only be withdrawn under exceptional circumstances, such as proven ethical violations or legal issues.
- Withdrawal notices will be issued, explaining the reasons for the withdrawal, and the article will be removed from the journal’s website.
Compliance with COPE
The Journal of Integrated Innovation Science adheres to COPE’s ethical standards and guidance for corrections and withdrawals. Decisions regarding corrections, retractions, addenda, and withdrawals are made transparently, in consultation with the editorial team, authors, and, where necessary, external experts.
By maintaining robust policies for corrections and withdrawals, the journal ensures that its published content remains accurate, reliable, and trustworthy, reinforcing its commitment to academic integrity and ethical publishing practices.
