Editorial Process

The  Journal of Integrated Innovation Science follows a rigorous and transparent editorial process to ensure the publication of high-quality and impactful research. This process involves multiple stages, from initial manuscript submission to final acceptance, all designed to maintain academic integrity and foster scholarly excellence. The journal adheres to ethical guidelines as outlined by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and prioritizes fairness, timeliness, and confidentiality throughout the editorial process.

Below is a detailed overview of each stage of the editorial workflow:

Technical Check

Once a manuscript is submitted, it undergoes a preliminary technical check by the editorial team to ensure it meets the journal's requirements. This stage includes:

  • Verifying compliance with submission guidelines, including formatting, word count, and referencing style.
  • Checking for plagiarism using reliable plagiarism detection software to ensure originality.
  • Ensuring that all required components (e.g., title, abstract, keywords, author details, and declarations) are included.
  • Confirming that the manuscript aligns with the journal’s scope and objectives.
Manuscripts that fail to meet these criteria are returned to the authors for corrections before proceeding to the next stage.

Peer Review

The journal employs a double-blind peer review process to ensure an unbiased evaluation. The process includes:

  • Assigning at least two independent reviewers with expertise in the relevant field.
  • Ensuring the anonymity of both authors and reviewers to eliminate bias.
  • Requesting reviewers to assess the manuscript for originality, methodological rigor, clarity, significance, and relevance to the journal’s scope.
  • Providing reviewers with clear guidelines and a structured evaluation form to ensure consistency.
The review process typically takes 4–6 weeks, depending on the reviewers’ availability and the complexity of the manuscript.

Editorial Decisions

Based on the reviewers’ feedback, the editorial team makes one of the following decisions:

  1. Accept: The manuscript is accepted with no or minimal revisions.
  2. Minor Revisions: Authors are requested to address minor issues raised by the reviewers.
  3. Major Revisions: Substantial changes are required before the manuscript can be reconsidered.
  4. Reject: The manuscript is not suitable for publication due to significant flaws or misalignment with the journal’s scope.

The Editor-in-Chief makes the final decision after carefully reviewing the reviewers’ comments and recommendations.

Revisions

If revisions are requested, the authors are given a specified time frame to submit the revised manuscript, typically:

  • Minor revisions: Within 2 weeks.
  • Major revisions: Within 4 weeks.

Authors are required to:

  • Provide a detailed response to reviewers’ comments, explaining how each point has been addressed.
  • Highlight changes made in the revised manuscript for clarity.

Revised manuscripts may be sent back to the original reviewers for re-evaluation, especially in the case of major revisions.

Accepted Manuscripts

Once a manuscript is accepted, it enters the production stage, which includes:

  • Finalizing the layout and formatting of the manuscript for publication.
  • Assigning a DOI (Digital Object Identifier) to the article for easy referencing and accessibility.
  • Preparing the article for inclusion in the upcoming issue based on the journal’s publishing schedule (January, April, July, and October).
  • Informing the authors of the acceptance and providing a galley proof for final approval before publication.

Accepted articles are published under an open-access model and licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC 4.0), ensuring free access to readers worldwide.

This editorial process reflects the journal's commitment to maintaining high academic standards while providing a fair and efficient experience for authors.
